Biography

Dr. Sruthi Satishchandran is a board-certified diplomat of the American Board of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery and a Fellow of the American Academy of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery.

Dr. Satish was born and raised in a suburb outside of Philadelphia, PA. She has always had an interest in scientific research and patient- care and pursued her doctorate in dental medicine at the University of Pittsburgh. During this time, she participated in several clinical research projects and continued to develop her interest in Oral & Maxillofacial surgery. While in Pittsburgh, she participated in several community outreach events and obtained a certificate in academic teaching and mentorship. She graduated in the top 10% of her dental school class.

After graduation, she and her husband moved to Atlanta to embark on her next chapter of life at Emory University School of Medicine, where she completed a 4-year residency program in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery at Emory University School of Medicine. Dr. Satish has presented on multiple topics related to clinical oral and maxillofacial surgery during conferences such as the AAOMS Annual Meeting. She has published various articles in the Journal of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery (JOMS) including her latest research on the ‘Quality of Life after Open versus Closed Treatment of Condylar Fractures’. During her training at Emory, she had exposure to a broad scope of Oral and Maxillofacial surgery that included training in complex surgical extractions, implant placement and bone grafting, the management of medically complex patients, temporomandibular joint disorders, pathology, and extensive facial trauma.

Dr. Satish maintains certifications in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) and Basic Life Support (BLS).
She is an active member of several professional organizations that include:

  • American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons

Dr. Satish and her husband, Karunesh, reside in Atlanta, GA with their two children. Outside of work, Dr. Satishchandran enjoys traveling, cooking, exploring parks, walking trails, and restaurants with family and friends.
