Biography

Dr. Chaliff grew up in Atlanta, Georgia and attended Riverwood High School, where he graduated as Valedictorian. He received his Bachelor of Science in Biology from the University of Georgia, graduating summa cum laude with Honors. Additionally, he completed a general surgery internship at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN. Dr. Chaliff earned his Doctor of Medicine degree from Vanderbilt University School of Medicine and his Doctor of Dental Surgery degree from Columbia University College of Dental Medicine.

Dr. Chaliff completed his residency at Vanderbilt University Medical Center in Nashville, TN, where he served as Chief Resident. In this role, he led a team of resident physicians and coordinated patient care while actively participating in a wide range of surgical procedures. His expertise includes the management of facial trauma, head and neck pathology, orthognathic surgery, facial reconstruction, secondary cleft care, dentoalveolar surgery, and dental implants. Throughout his residency, he collaborated with attending physicians and interdisciplinary teams to develop comprehensive treatment plans. His research contributions have been recognized nationally, with findings presented at conferences, contributing significantly to the advancement of oral and maxillofacial surgery knowledge. Dr. Chaliff has contributed to research published in the Journal of NeuroInterventional Surgery, focusing on oral health and functional outcomes following mechanical thrombectomy for ischemic stroke.

Dr. Chaliff was recognized with the “Dental Student Award” from the American Association of Oral and Maxillofacial Surgeons for outstanding achievements during his dental education. He also received “The Louis Mandel Award” for proficiency in Oral and Maxillofacial Surgery. Dr. Chaliff is certified in Advanced Trauma Life Support (ATLS), Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS), Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS), and Basic Life Support (BLS). He is proficient in Spanish, including medical Spanish.

Dr. Chaliff comes from a medical background, with his father being a physician in Atlanta for over 30 years. He enjoys trying new technology, especially in Oral Surgery with an emphasis on 3D printing. His wife, Erica, is also an Atlanta native, and they met in high school. They share their home with their rescue dog, Flash. Outside of work, he loves traveling, cheering on the Georgia Bulldogs, and taking Flash on walks with his wife.
